Strength Training and Fitness for Older Adults

Some new information out of Australia regarding fitness for older people. A study has shown that strength training may be more beneficial than a walking program for improving daily function in older adults.
This is not to say that walking is not a valuable part of one’s fitness regimen, but the addition of a simple, machine-based strength training program is also vital to improving function. Here's an article from Science Daily on the research
